Games, and the entire Paramount empire — which already includes CBS, MTV, BET, and Nickelodeon. His father, billionaire Larry Ellison, is bankrolling the $45.7 billion acquisition. The result: a media portfolio that now rivals Disney's in sheer reach and influence.

The DoJ didn't just rubber-stamp this. The agency specifically rejected arguments that Disney's acquisition of Fox offered a cautionary tale, citing the COVID-19 pandemic as a reason the comparison doesn't hold. Labor concerns from industry workers? Also dismissed. The UK is investigating separately, which may have pushed the DoJ to move faster rather than slower.
